Where: Palmer Hall at University of Toledo Campus

 

Time: Every Saturday from 9:50 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.

           Every Third Saturday from 9:50 to 2:00 P.M. because of the Future/Interest clubs event.

 

Our Purpose: To enhance the academic skills of 7th and 8th graders and to get them interested in math and science oriented careers and to help students to gain an early awareness of college education

 

Program Goals: The goals are to help students have high expectations in their academic career,  and to be successful in the future. 

To provide students with a learning experience in mathematics and science that is both fun and hands-on.

To teach students to apply and appreciate math and polymer science in the world around them.

To increase the math and science skills of high school students in order to prepare them for a university program of study in the sciences, mathematics or engineering.

To provide students with opportunities to use computers and learn how computer applications relate to science and research.

Saturday Program Highlights:

Hands-on experiments focusing on various practical science projects such as building bridges, roller costars and computers.

Learning and using computer applications to applying project in math, science and English.

An enrich curricula that include study skills component that encourages creative thinking, organize  strategies and improved reading skills.

Engineer projects that are supported and supervised by University professors.

Special guest lecturers who are engaged in help students to chose their future careers.

Future/Interest clubs offer career shadowing by local professionals.

Parent involvement in Saturday Institute such as helping award perfect attendance activities.

Offering field trips such as COSI, UT Campus,  Exciting Field Trip and Ohio Medical College.
